Best Markets In Toowoomba

Looking for something to do locally this weekend? Or want to know where to get the freshest produce in Toowoomba?

We run through the best markets in Toowoomba so you can have a fun-filled day of exploring.

My Local Feast Farmers’ Market

What’s the first thing most people think of when you say ‘market’? Fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods and coffee at a local farmers market. When it comes to Toowoomba markets, you can’t go past My Local Feast Farmers’ Market, supporting the finest produce from family farmers.

Not only will you find everything you’d expect from a typical farmers market, but there’s also a Kids in the Kitchen area, farm animals like goats, and even a fully vegan stall from local Grassroots Chef Asher Andrews.

My Local Feast Farmers’ Market is on twice weekly: Wednesdays (2pm–7pm) at the Mills Precinct, and Saturdays (7am–12pm) at Cobb & Co.

The Handmade Expo Market

Held every couple of months, depending on location, it’s the infrequency of the Handmade Expo Market that makes it such a popular event. There is just one more date on the 2019 calendar: 24 November, so jot this down so you don’t miss out.

An exclusively handmade market, you’ll find all sorts of art and craft supplies, as well as high-quality food to keep you wandering the stalls for hours on end. If you’re a crafty person yourself, applications to run a stall are always welcome.

The Handmade Expo Market (9am–2pm) usually visits Toowoomba four times a year. Check the website for upcoming dates.

PCYC Sunday Markets

For more than two decades, the PCYC has played host to Sunday markets, remaining a staple event in locals’ calendars throughout the year.

Hop on down to 219A James Street to source the freshest fruit and veg, browse some locally made arts and crafts, pick up a deal with trash-and-treasure stalls, and find that perfect addition to your garden with seasonal plants for sale.

PCYC Sunday Markets are on every Sunday (7am–12.30pm) at the Police Citizens Youth Club Toowoomba.

Cabarlah Markets

Escape to the countryside for a taste of peace, quiet and some of the best stalls around.

Dozens of stalls set up shop in Shostaki Park, just off the New England Highway in Cabarlah, to showcase a great range of food, arts and crafts, pet accessories, furniture, glassware, plants, fruit and veg, and much more. It’s one of the biggest market events in Toowoomba so it’s a must-do for locals and visitors alike.

Cabarlah Markets (7.30am–12pm) are on every last Sunday of the month at Shostaki Park.

The Original Mix

It’s not a regular recurring marketplace like most markets in Toowoomba, but The Original Mix hosts a series of exciting food and community-based events right across the city.

The team bought out the popular Dine Down Town markets and now puts on delicious street-food events at locations like St Luke’s Anglican Church, where families can set up a weekend picnic for themselves and enjoy a smorgasbord of food options.

Bites and Beats is another brainchild of The Original Mix, combining fantastic food with local music to make it an evening to remember.

You can learn more about what The Original Mix is doing at their website, or find out what their upcoming events are on their Facebook page.
