Second Range Crossing Progress Update
In an accomplishment 18 months in the making, the final Super-T girder needed for the project has been delivered to the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing (TSRC). The first girder used was delivered in early 2017 and around 500 girders have been delivered to various parts of the site since.
The girders are used in a number of structures throughout the project, including the 800m long viaduct, Boundary Street interchange bridge, Goombungee Road bridge and New England Highway arch bridges.
Each Super-T girder took two prime movers to transport to the TSRC site and can weigh up to 90 tonnes.
